Simple reactor :)

I use to have zeovit system where the zeolit reactor had to be "pumped" to clean the zeolites of mulm ( algae buld up ) that said that feed corals.
Does the same way aquaforest system works ?

Nice set up.
Thank you!

i think just absorb NH4(and another nutrient) in aquaforest system.
Aquaforest system got another foods.

Zeolites do not require shaking – they can be placed in fluidised filter. The recommended flow through the bed is 300-500 Ltrs /h.

Amazing reef!

AF BioS 4drop
AF ProBioS 4drop
AF ProBioF 4spoon
AF NPPro 4drop

Hey Horse,

I am just starting with Aquaforest products on a new tank I've built. Could you give me your views on the following?

1. I can see you dose all of
AF ProBioS 4drop
AF ProBioF 4spoon
AF NPPro 4drop

I understood that their (admittedly confusing) system meant dosing EITHER Pro Bio S and NP Pro, OR just Pro Bio F. As they both did the same thing... The Bio F is just designed for smaller systems I think.

What has led you to dose both?

2. I see you use a calcium reactor and also dose their premixed 1,2,3 liquids that also contain calcium and alkalinity. Did you find that the 1,2,3 couldn't supply enough alk/cal without spending a fortune putting several hundred millilitres in per day and so added the calc reactor to add extra?

Thanks for any response

1. I think that affect a different role.
BioS -> for NH4(heavy load)
ProBioS -> for low nutrient
ProBioF -> support ProBioS
NPPro -> carbon source

2. Yes. I have many SPS.
1,2,3 can not keep alkalinity level.
1,2,3 is too expensive.
so i use both way.

Beautiful tank! I can not believe your brave enough to add that many blue hippo tangs to that size tank. That will be a big tasks fishing them out in a year or two. Those fish grow so fast! I love all the fish though, how many are in there? I think you may have me beat :)

Thanks for the response. I think you have some overlap in the products you are dosing, I think you could save some money and cut out one or more of bio s, pro bio f, pro bio s without any negative effect. Af's guide definitely does not say that all four product's need to be used, it's supposed to be a combination of them, based on your type of tank.

Why do you dose the 3 part if you run a Calcium Reactor? Is t that redundant?

Just asking b/c I plan on ditching the 3 part for a nice reactor to take care of all that

Very Nice tank Buddy...I have a question, your tank is 100 gallons? so dimensions are something like 48 x 24 x 20 ? I am asking cause I see a lot of fish some pretty big ones like the Naso tang. How big is your tang? are you going to rehome him after a certain size? I have a 100 gallon and I keep getting told I should not put too many tangs in my tank. Just curious your thoughts??
