So a friend of mine gave me a screaming deal on this 30" cube build by Glasscages some years ago that was just sitting. It has never seen water and originally purchased to be a planted tank.
We arent doing that
So some of the challenges of this tank were :
Deep tank will have to evaluate this
limitations on sump (came with sump but about 15x15x15 and I wanted a large sump) as internal space measures like 29"
Stand is nice plywood but only has one cutout thus limiting access to sump area for service maintenance.
After pondering all this I finally decided to make a 2x4 rocketengineer style stand and will sacrifice plywood stand and use this as skin and to reinforce the frame. This will allow a 30" sump.

I have the following equipment going on tank
Lighting :
Orphek Atlantik Icon ( I will likely add a couple OR bars or blades)
Flow :
2 Ecotech MP40's
Return from sump RO Varios 4
return from UV RD X turned way down

25 watt Aqua UV unit

30" Ice Cap sump

Skimmer RO Elite 150

while putting off the build this summer due to vacations and travel in the mean time I played around w/ rockscape. This is a combo of carib sea (with pins ) and Morroca branch thant I got another screaming deal on from Premium Aquatics.

Nice looking aquascape!

Sticking around to see this come together!
I have it leak testing in garage .. The lady “needed “ for us to get a new 1 1/2 chair for the office so we ordered that several weeks back . Apparently It is in so I will try to move tank inside to setup ..

I have this rock or something similar. Mine's been running in my LFS' rock vat for a while though so the coralline on it is real. So is the algae and aiptasia. lol

I really dig it. It makes for so many great hiding spots.

36"x24"x12"h After having larger tanks, I really love how easy it is to manage.

What sand size you using?
I am still contemplating staying BB

Caribsea Fiji Pink mixed with their Ocean direct. It's perfect for wrasses.
It doesn't blow around too bad and it looks nice. I might "dirty it up" a bit with some black sand, but I wanted the aragonite for its buffering capacity.

I personally wouldn't go bare bottom. I have like an inch of sand and it gets 2" at the most where it dunes up. I level it here and there as needed which is no big deal.

Ok update but not much of an update .. Our chair came in and now setup .. Looks like I have a good amount of space for the tank to go in .. All I have to do is tear out and move the planted aquarium .. Also had been running water in tank . Now been running water in sump to leak text w/ skimmer on .. Getting close ..
Oh yeah I was looking @ a controller.. The next day the A3 was Black Friday on sale so I ordered this and an MXM anyone using this with mobius ??

I have the same skimmer. It's working great. You'll have to play around with it to get it dialed in but once you do you will be happy. My water level is about 8". With these the instinct will be to run it wide open, but it's better to slow the water flow just a bit. It seems to make better bubbles this way. I have the valve a little more than half way closed and running the 2nd speed on the pump. It seems to like this a lot.

And make sure you dont install the t-fitting for the wedge valve upside down like I did, or you'll think the skimmer is a point of sale. Can't believe I did that even with the arrow marked on it, but i did. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

haha Yup!
If you get it and need any help you can hit me up. I have the a3 pro kit with the ATK. All setup and running wonderfully. I can't believe I have a controller. It's like moving from the ghetto to the golf course. :grinning-squinting-face:
