Well i just got my 2 Jebao WP-40s in and these things kick butt!!!!!! got crazy waves in the tank! Along with the new Photon 48 my corals are the happiest i have ever seen them. I should of made the move to LED sooner, my sps has already shown growth just in the past 4 days i have had this unit. extremely pleased!

Just looking for some advice on 2 things:

1. LEDS: I have them at 30/30 % what should i max em out at? and how often do i up the % and by what?

2. PUMPS: I have the left pump on W1 mode and the right pump on Else which is pointed toward the front of the tank. you think this is good or should i change the else pump to w1 as well

Full tank shot

Just placed my order for the following:

CN-75670 SW - Multicolor Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse

CN-38740 SW - McCosker's Flasher Wrasse, SubAdult/Male (Sumatra) - Small

CN-77318 SW - Midas Blenny (Africa) - Medium

CN-89421 SW - Red Mandarin (Indonesia) - Medium

0923131349 Diver's Den Mystery Wrasse

cant wait to get these guys in. Also picked up some parts to make a DIY acclimation box. Pics coming soon!

So i finally used my Live Aquaria gift card and picked me up some super nice wrasses!! Mystery, Multicolor Lubbock's Fairy, and a McCosker's Flasher wrasse. I also picked up a midas blenny and a Red Mandarin.

So i needed an acclimation box since i already have 2 wrasses in my tank. I found this idea below and man this worked out GREAT!!!!!
Check out this link to a DIY Acclimation box

I don't know if anyone has chimed in but be really careful with your switch to LED. When I switched I got excited and blasted them up to like 80%. 2 things happened, first the SPS took off and started growing like crazy, this led to extreme swings in alk and calcium as they were eating it up at a rate I've never seen. Secondly the bleaching kicked in, it took a few weeks before the coral started and I think its a combo of the parameter swings with the new intense light. You have a lot of coral that will take off so keep a real close eye on your calcium and alk. I'd leave them at 30% and see how things are going. If nothign is browning out and you're seeing growth just leave them. These new LEDs are extremely powerfull, especially if you have the 90 degree optics like I do.

Just friendly advice, your tank looks great so I'm sure you know what you're doing...:)

Thanks yeah i started the LEDS super low at about 20% and have built them up over time to about 52%. I just recently found out theres no real need to run a ton of white leds so i think im at 52 blues and 30 whites. everything is looking good i have only had 1 coral start to bleach whn i was running 52%whites and 52% blues. since i changed the settings that corals come back around and we are looking good now.
