Hi All,
I'm new member here and I decided to share some info about my new mixed reef tank, I'm open to any suggestions since I'm new to saltwater hobby. I've started my first mixed reef tank about 3 months ago. I've switched from freshwater planted tank that i had some problems keeping because of my well water causing Ph crashes and algae. I'm new to the saltwater tanks so there is still allot to learn but so far it is going pretty good without any major issues.
Equipment:
Aquastation DC4000 silent pump
Fluval FX6
Reef Octopus Classic 150INT Skimmer
2x Boxtech 300W heaters
3x 165W Viparspectra Reef lights
Jebao SOW-8 circulation pump
20 gallon DIY sump
Coralife Turbo Twist 36W UV Sterilizer
Livestock:
1 dwarf Flame Angel
4 Blue Chromis
1 Pink Spotted Watchmen Goby
1 Piston Shrimp
2 small Clown Fish
1 6 Line Wrasse
20 various crabs
20 various snails
Corals:
2x Hammers
2x Frogspawns
1x Galaxea
2x GSP
2x Candy Cane
Various muschrooms
Various zoas
1x Duncan
1 bubble rose Anemone
1 Long Tentacles Anemone
1 Rainbow Anemone
At the beginning I had too much rock and I was using lights for Freshwater Aquarium
I redid Aquascape by removing some of the rock and making some more room for fish to swim
I used mixture of live and dry rock plus I've added bacteria to speed up my cycle, it went pretty quick and smooth
2 new lights were delivered and temporary installed. 3rd one got lost in shipping
After a week 3rd light came and all of them were ready to be installed properly
