Looks good!

Looks good!

Thanks Rev :D

Just finished 2 batches of rock :) Rock that are in this 125g that have aptasia that won't die are just not going into the 180g when it's ready. It's become a losing battle and I'd rather have a little less purple in it than aptasia

My millies aren't looking good at all. Water quality is good. But there has to be something... so I added a uv sterilzer to the tank. It can't hurt.

Finally got some help removing tge canopy yesterday, replaced the T5 ballast and sure enough it was a bad wire and the other ballast over-ramped them. They light nicely now but just incase, I ordered new bulbs. I had to order 2 blue plus anyway to add to these for the new 180 build.

The lights have been out for 2 days. Getting help tonight to put tge canopy back, yay!

I need to go out and get a 4 light timer.... there's always something draining the bank!

I still need baffles for the new sump, 200+ lbs of sand, another 200g box of RC and wood for the canopy.

Updated FTS of this tank with only 2 ATI T5s on. Coral+ and Purple+. Hope these look ok ove PC Galaxy S4 camera isn't very good IMO.

I really like this tank.

I really like this tank.

Thanks Rev, me too :D

It just isn't big enough. I'll be upgrading it to a 180 in about a month if all goes well drilling the holes in it and my DIY rock is cured. I wanted more width but I don't have the room for more than 24". I got a really good deal on a used 180 ($150) so I went for it :)

Awesome Build thread and story Jackie, quite the journey you've been on since the start. First time I've come across and taken the time to read it, glad I did.

Cheers, Todd

Thank you Todd! Yes, quite a journey lol and never a dull moment :) I am surprised I was able to sustain this tank about a year and a half ago. Florida's economical crisis hit us VERY hard. So hard my husband took work in another state (Wyoming) for a year while I stayed here and fought our mortgage Co. Our house was under water by 100k. We were behind 3mo on the mortgage and everything was going way down hill. In August of 2013 he came back and with a new job (didn't pay as well but he was home). At that point we realized our mortgage company was playing games with us and truly not trying to help. They filed foreclosure at the same time as saying we were approved for a loan mod. Liars! So I hired a lawyer, saved the house and reduced our payments by 1k per month. Finally we can live again :D and yes, spend money on the new build. There should be a "dance" smiley! Lol

I have made several purchases toward the new tank build in the last month or two but storing them untill I have everything else needed and in place to put it all together.

My daughter Rachel, graduates HS tomorrow night so I will be super busy tomorrow and Saturday for her party of 60+ guests and probably won't have time to be here. She is my 2nd youngest and will be moving to Texas next weekend :( I am going to miss her SO MUCH.

Ordered some pelletized soda lime last night. It will arrive Thursday ish. In the meantime I plan to diy a co2 scrubber. I also figured out how to get an air line to the outside of the house. However, gotta ask hubby. We will need a pretty long drill bit as we will have to drill through concrete block. I also am not sure how it should be connected.

This co2 will be the Gatorade bottle version but will have a fresh air line and a line to the skimmer. My RO air intake has 2 nozzels so I was thinking one to each nozzel. I hope this is correct. Yes?

I am such a dummy sometimes! Ever have one of those moments when you instanlty realize how to do something that you've been trying to find a way to do for what seems like forever, and it was so simple in the first place? Yep, I did that!

I have been trying to think of a way to get outside air in to raise my ph without going up through the roof since the tank is not very near or on an outside wall. Hubby says no way are we going through the roof. Sigh... Well I'm in my diningroom painting my daughters headboard (cuz it's still raining outside) and BAM it hits me.... the cable guy! Duh! what the heck is wrong with me, I knew this, why didn't I already realize this? What a dummy I am and wasted ALL this time!!!! Cable is the same size as the airline tubing!

So I go to Lowes and get a 12" x 3/8" concrete drill bit and 20ft of airline tubing and a cable wall plate. Tomorrow I drill the hole to the outside ....

Air line to the outside :) now to hook it up to the skimmer. Sadly I'll have to take the ph reading tomorrow cuz it's already nighttime. Todays reading was 7.9 and temp 78.4 at 5pm right before t5 lights out and leds at 50%
