New house, new tank, September 2015. I had a (almost) 2 yr old 90g tank. We moved and I upgraded. I found a 135g tank, stand and canopy (hand-made by the seller and it's gorgeous, 7 ft tall all together, 6 ft long), 50g sump, skimmer, plumbing, and return pump.
With lots of help I got everything moved over without any loss! (My pretty, green, big Monti broke in a couple pieces, but its recovering.) We bought a 4 bulb T5 and used the Jebao wavemakers I already had. This Christmas I upgraded those to the Gyre 150.
A couple of cool things... I didn't buy any new rock and now have an open swimming space for my dear fishies. I have space in the sump for a refugium!
One thing I'm still trying to get a handle on: the tank is not drilled, so it has, and I'm not even sure what it's called, tubes pulling water over the back from one box to another box.... There is sometimes lots of gurgling. Lots of adjustment of nasty sponge...
But I love standing in front of my tall tank, relaxing, planning what I want or need to do next!
