My 140 Bare bottom rimless

Thanks for the info. I have two V1's over my 180. the channels are different from V2, 1 and 3 in V1 are blues. I've been having a heck of a time dialing them in. I don't supplement with any other lighting...

Have been debating bare bottom vs sand for my planned 120 peninsula but have to say this really is a strong persuasion for bare bottom. This is just lovely.

Well I think the benefits of a BB system definitely outweigh the esthetics of sand. But you also have to remember that some animals won't like it. If your focus is SPS however, being able to have really high flow is worth it. I used to have sand but one day I just had had enough of the sand storms... :)

Wow, amazing job! !This is exactly what I'm inspiring to do with my tank! I need some advice, I am really contemplating on going into a full ZEOvit system! am dosing polhs elements(extra special, coral vitalizer, B-Balance and amino acids) at the moment but I don't have the reactor, I haven't noticed a huge difference in my coral frag only been doing it for five days .My system is only a-year-old, I started out basic and really progressed because I wanted to go from LPS and now looking at tanks like yours, i recently went all out and spent a lot of money and even more time to get my tank SPS ready now when I think I'm finished, I want to even do more upgrades and go ZEOvit..
Maybe I'm moving to fast.

First off, thank you! :)

Oh man, do I know that feeling... There are so many ways to run a successful tank. Or an unsuccessful tank for that matter.

You need the basics working first. IMO running zeolites (zeovit, zeolight, ultralith etc) is a way of turbocharging your colors but it won't work unless your tank is already stable, i.e. all parameters in check and at least you can see some decent growth.

Unfortunately I can't give you much specific advice as I don't have any experience with Korallen zucht's ZEOvit system. I'm running Fauna Marin's equivalent Zeolight, which I figured was less of a hassle with all the different additives. Also, I'm just at the beginning of my zeo journey. I have only run it for two weeks so far.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide :)

This is VERY helpful for me because if you been using your program for only a couple weeks that means that your tank looks that good without it. I don't think that that could've grown that beautiful in just two weeks so it is possible to achieve beautiful coral with Berlin Theory
So my conclusion is to see what I can accomplish with the amazing equipment that I have, give it some time and a lot of love and if I can accomplish some growth and color then I was super charge it with some Zeo of some sort..
The new thing that I'm iffy about is lighting, in the thread there talking a lot about T5 and I only have hight output LED

Here are some coral close-ups

I am not only very impressed, but very jealous!!! In one year I have had very little growth And

have added equipment after equipment after equipment I thank God my wife is completely oblivious on what's going on because if she only knew. oh man!! The only thing she told me is it has to look good or it's going to be put in the garage, which I think is a great idea!! Hahaha don't have much to show as far as coral but I'll send what I have so far, and of course what I'm most proud about and that's the building and the set up.I've done it all myself from the ground up maybe you can give me some pointers. Thanks again for listening but if I can pick your brain just a little bit and achieve a half of what you got right now I'd be very happy man.

dang your setup is insane! Very clean look! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but how does your corals look? Pale with little color or just dark? I can see some measurements on that board above your tank. Nitrate at 0 is definitely too low. IME you want it to be around 5ppm and phosphates low but detectable. Also, are you feeding your corals? Try target feeding some reef roids or similar product with a syringe a few times a week while your pumps are off. You might be skimming too much. Don't be afraid of a little nitrates. Under normal conditions having some is better than having too little. Basically you will starve your corals.

OK now we're getting somewhere, I read about being to clean but I also read if you're going to feed a lot you need to keep it clean this is my feeding regimen

Monday- Reef-roids 1-teaspoon target feed 4ml polhs B-balance
4ml Extra special and 4 drops coral vitalizer 4 drops KZ amino acid

Wednesday: Reef nutrition Oyster feast don't spot feed.four drops of KZ amino acids

Friday -Reef-roids 1-teaspoon target feed, 4ml polhs B-balance, 4ml Extra special,4 drops coral vitalizer and 4 drops KZ amino acid

Sunday: Reef nutrition Oyster feast don't spot feed.four drops of KZ amino acids

I'm running carbon and GFO

Ok it sounds like you are feeding and dosing quite a bit. Maybe you should stop your dosing of amino acids etc, and just focus on clean water, stable parameters and keeping you fish fat and happy and occasionally spot feed your corals. That was how I was doing it before I started the Zeolight regimen. If you have a hard time to keep nitrates detectable you can always add more fish. Also remember that nothing good happens fast in this hobby. Wait a month between any major changes so you have a chance to see what actually works.

Another thing, what intensities are you running your lights at?

PAR reading for my lights are an average 180 at the very bottom of the tank underneath the light. middle of the tank is where my coral are is 260 top of the tank is up to 389 400 these measurements are done by Apex Neptune system PAR meter

Here are the settings for my lights ramp up at 8 AM intensity is from 12 to 5 ramp down from 5 to 6 lights moon till 10 light out after that
The tank is 20 inches deep the lights are 8 inches from the surface of the water

Ok your lighting seems adequate, but I think you should be able to increase it if you do it slowly over a few weeks.

I don't have a par meter but I'm running my orphek at 100% blue, 80% uv, 80% red and whites at only 10%, however I also have 4 54w t5s. The LEDs ramp up from 7 am to 10 am and ramp down from 6 pm to 8 pm. The t5s are not dimmable so they are on max from 8 am to 5 pm. My fixture is 6 inches above the water so I think my par is pretty high and it seems like my acros that are just a few inches from the surface are liking it.
