Fairly stock setup except I added a PC fan to the back of the hood to help cool the tank. Went thru the typical diatom bloom last week after the ammonia crashed, but it was very short in duration (4 days) and they seem to be waning now. The 'pod's I added on Friday are doing well and appear to be mating, and I'm starting to see spots of green, so I guess all is well with my parameters. I'd forgotten how much fun this is! I re-purposed an old kitchen cabinet from a thrift store and it gives me all the storage I need. Now all I need are some critters.

Great beginnings, just continue to go slow as you obviously have done. :-)

I'm beginning to realize I have this wrong way round. Should have set up a QT first! Anyone have any recommendations on a SMALL inexpensive QT. I have an old Aquaclear HOB for filtration, heater and thermometer. Just need a small tank. The little 5 gallon tanks from years ago seem to have gone out of favor. I'd like to have some livestock (clowns and a small nem by Turkeyday) in my DT.
