Hi there - Here's my / "Cheryl Skeryl" -FMAS & Cheryl@NAAquatics FB pages personal tank!
I've had fish tanks most of my life, but got into saltwater in 2005 after setting all the "hype" of it being too hard or too expensive & Big AL's opening a HUGE store 2 blocks from my house!
I actually did what most people do & start small (mostly due to cost) because it actually is expensive....to do it right, but can become "too" expensive when you don't just do it the right way from the get go! I started with a 65gal tall...I went on to a 90gal corner (which was a great tank), but I wanted more...I was able to get a 150 for a great deal from a guy who was moving & couldn't keep his. That bring me to today - while I have since upgraded everything to brand new - I had to stick to 150 just due to my current available space (& spouse) in my house
Here's a little info on my tank:
Marineland 150/Corner overflows (72x18X28) with espresso/wood stand/canopy- I have to have canopy due to placement 15ft ceilings & keep pet hair/dust out - otherwise I would choose no top/canopy.
1 Trigger Systems Crystal36 Sump/Refugium - it's the largest sump/fuge that would fit under the tank given the stand measurements. I run 2 small pumps that run in the skimmer compartment & return compartment.
*Skimmer is in between stages as we speak* debating on upgrading to Reef Octopus space saver or replacing just pump on a friends old skimmer*
4 AI SOL-Super Blue LED's upgraded from 2 Tek T5's kits last year (while I like the blues & ability to control, I miss my T5's sometimes)
1 36W Turbo Twister - UV Sterilizer - runs 24/7
1 Bio Pellet Reactor - off an on - currently running with good results
Current Fish:
Atlantic Doctorfish aka Atlantic Blue Tang or Surgeon, Mimic Tang, Sailfin Tang, Coral Beauty, Green Coris Wrasse, Yellow Coris Wrasse, 6 line wrasse, cleaner wrasse 2 Ocellaris & 2 True Percula - both mated pairs, Starry Blenny, lawnmower Blenny, Royal Gramma, Pearly Jaw, Bullet Goby, Lyretail Anthias-female & Mandarin-male
Inverts:
Emerald crab, Sally Lightfoot Crab, black & white Serpent Starfish, Several Peppermint Shrimps, Banded Shrimp & lots of Mexican Turbo Snails
Corals:
Vary from softies/LPS to SPS/Acros/Monit's & Chalice's - my current soft spot it for acans.
