Tank is 1" Acrylic(almost bullet proof) Polycast.

48 x 32 x 24 Normal dimensions would equal 160g but since double the thickness it equals out to be 150g(ok 149.9). It will be set up peninsula style with a external overflow, 3 drains 1" with 2 1" returns.

Stand is 49 x 33x 40 tall. Made from 2x6 and 2x4 to be trimmed with oak. However I do know i am going to make the facing removable, either held on by magnets or on rails.

Canopy is going to hinge from the center and be able to lift from either side.

Skimmer is a Aquaeuro 400.

2 250w MH moving from my current tank and led surround for supplement.

But enough with the talking time for some pics.

Oh wow that's a great tank!

After looking for a couple months on craigslist. I bought enough acrylic to make two tanks this size for 80$. Also found on Craigslist, a little bit of a challenge with the 1" for powerheads and such but I have made it work. Geting a 1500+ tank assembled for under 400 with materials was too good of a buy former to pass.

Is that an mp 60? coz I have the same thickness and the mp 40 doesn't hold. Is it 1" all around? I noticed you have a Koralia too how does that stay put?

No it is a mp40 i just suspend the cord in the canopy and it only has to hold the wet side. The thickness is 1" all around, for the koralias I have magnets that i bought online that have a pull strength of 35# on each one.

can you plz tell me where online you got those magnets? I have a 1" acrylic tank as well and I need a strong magnet to hold my Koralia's as well. Thx

Long overdue update, I built a room out in my garage to hold my sump and equipment. It has been going for 3 weeks now and is so much nicer then crawling under the stand. it wasn't hiccup free though, I left my rodi on overnight causing 70g of fresh water to fill the sump, dropping salinity from .025 to .020. it took 25cups of salt to bring it back to normal, but amazingly I didn't loose anything.

pictures to follow shortly

Sump room, its small but works. 120g Starfire sump. Standpipe is for easy water changes and so i dont forget to shut it off and drain the entire sump.
