I'm going to be setting up/building a 180 fowlr and I'm going to use this as my build out progress

I have some pictures of the tank (before during and after the drilling) some of the before of the sump area

It will be a 180 72x24x24 with dual 1-1/2 drains dual 1" returns

I will have a sump in the basement( its only a few feet below)

I'm looking to go with minimal rock work so we can watch the fish

So Far I have the sump, the skimmer (Bashsea 6-24 driven by a mag 12)

I'm going to be doing a fuge in the sump, a 12x UV light, a carbon reactor and maybe a separate remote fuge.

Depending on the fish I end up going with I might add a few corals for color.

Lighting I'm using 3 basic black box leds

In the tank I will be using 2 rw-8's for powerheads

The return is where i have a question, as since Im doing dual 1-1/2 drains and dual 1" returns, Im wondering if a mag 18 is going to be enough or if I should jump up do a dct-12000 Return pump

Also if anyone has any suggestions on bright colorful fish that will be ok in a tank this size please let me know

Cant wait to see this thing going! Make sure to post lots of pics!

Now I know why they call it a build!

I finally got the plumbing from the tank to the sump done LOL

Well after a change is life and 3 surgery's, I am back on track to turn this in to the great 180 build.

I'm going to go with a mixed reef this time as I'm only keeping one tank in the house except for a biocube

I am using the same as listed above except I am going to use rw-15's and a 100 gallon rubber maid sump and a reef octopus skimmer, think i might still do a remote fuge.

Just had my gallbladder removed last night so it will be a few days before I start on this but I am writing this to help keep track

Looking forward to having just one big tank and watching it come to life

I will be posting some pictures later , but to Update my slow build LOL

I have the tank plumbed, the sump plumbed, ro/di water is being made.

I have upgraded the skimmer to a asm-g4xx( got it brand new with a bunch of stuff I picked up locally)

I plumbed in a 20 long remote fuge.

Yes This is going to take some time but since its the only tank in my house now and I want to do it the way I want for the long run, im ok with taking my time. Plus kids going back to school, a car repair and life in general I get stuff for it as I have the extra money
