Hi,
So this is my first saltwater tank setup and I want to do a reef tank. My tank is a 29 gallon with a canister running only filter floss and matrix for now. Don't worry.. I will maintain my canister weekly. I also have about 30lbs live rock and some live sand as well. My tank is nearly cycled and I plan on getting my first fish next weekend.

So far here is my list
-Midas or Starry Blenny
-One or two Ocellaris Clowns
-Some sore of wrasse.. maybe possum?

Or
One single specimen fish? Perhaps flame angel?

Orrr..
Papau toby puffer pair?

So my question is, what order would you add these fish, and will I have problems with compatibility? I'm not dead set on any one fish right now, I just want to figure out my first fish for next weekend. Probably would like to start with a more active swimmer to start so my tank looks more interesting from afar until I add more fish and coral.

Any insights are appreciated.

Smart to make a stocking list its key! Actually one of my main tips for new reek keeping hobbyists!

With that in mind I if adding the possum wrasse get them in first.. most passive, then work your way through with least aggressive to most.. like blenny next, clowns, and last fish since you have not decided!

Also welcome to the hobby!

Check out my channel hope you like it and subscribe and come on my reefing journey with me!

I definitely recommend Having the Midas. Incredibly fun fish to have and watch with a lot of personality.

Would the midas be ok as my first fish if I plan on adding others later?

Don't be afraid of adjusting your aquascape. 29 gallon was my first reef and it was tough to get slow. I would stay away for the flame angle and puffer for now, they can get bored in a small tank and go after corals/inverts. I love clown pairs and the midas would be cool.
