I'm looking to buy lights for my tank. I wasnt interested in coral when i fostered this idea but I want to now. I'm on a budget. What would you use. I attached an image of my tank. Got to buy some more rock. Taking my time

If your on a budget, the Chinese black box LEDs I've heard are not bad for the money. You can find them on eBay for about $80.00-$100.00. Otherwise go through your cycle with the light you have and bite the bullet to save for a good light. One of the best investments of any reef tank is the lighting.

Just one in the center will do. Set the height based on the spread you want, but generally 8-10" above the water surface should work.

This is my grandson's 29g that I built him. Excuse the cloudy water as it was just filled yesterday. This is a Chinese black box light at 10" above the surface. Actually the cloud will point out the light spread ;)

I would go with that also. I have a 29 and a version of those lights with wifi. I raised mine up a little higher to get rid of shadowing. Mine are about 15" above the water set at 40% white and 80% blue. They are surprisingly powerful, I had them set at 45% White and 90% Blue and bleached a pretty nice Acro. At that time the lights were about 12" off the water the Acro was about 10" below the surface. They are powerful, the par at that setting and depth is over 500. I actually have a chart that maps out the par on them.
