My 2nd adventure into this hobby!

So I'm still pretty dang new into this hobby. I had a 55g set up once before with probably 70lbs of lr and about a 3" bed. Hob skimmer, canister filter, 4 bulb 5t light. It ran awesome for about a year and a half. I had all the beginner soft corals you can think of... Mushrooms, gsp, toad stools, Zoa, and even a rose bulb tip anem for a while. Then work got real busy for me and I lost the time to properly care for everything. Being 20 at the time, work was more important. So i sold off the majority of the equipment I had and gave away most all of my critters. A bit of a bummer but now I have found the time once again. In November I started another 55g. But being in a rush like most kids my age (24), I didn't take the time to set everything up the way you properly should. And was delayed in many different ways. I bought a stand that wouldn't fit the sump/fuge I wanted. I set my stand on carpet and too close to the wall. I guess it was more just poor planning. Anyways I have corrected everything and am up and running . I'm even beginning to get little specks of coralline all over my power heads and the back of the tank. I do believe now that you genuinely need patience and some planning skills to get anywhere effectively in this hobby. Not only in the initial process of setting up but as well as picking your inhabitants. I even messed up there. I picked up a Picasso clown and a neon dotty back for my first fish into the tank. Well the dotty back killed my clown. And now he is picking on all my snails, crabs, and my peppermint shrimp. So he will have to come out sooner or later but I'm Doing more research before I get anything else. So I mentioned I set my tank too close to the wall. Well my tank started to lean towards the wall. So I figured I could kill two birds with one stone and I built a stand for my stand! I removed the back support from the existing stand, built a steel support to set it on. In doing so, it opened up the room I needed for my sump/fuge. So being on the budget I am, i decided to build it out of a 20g tank I had laying around. Picked up some glass, silicone, and a cutter. Before you know it, i had a fuge. Sorry for the rant, My girlfriend is the only one who knows anything about the struggle I went through and I guess I needed to vent a little.
