My 2nd Mini Tank

I would do a test and ghost cycle it as you add a few drops of ammonia in the tank, test after 10 min or so and test 24hrs later to see if it dropped to you acceptable level of being save to add livestock.

Thanks. Will do that

I can't find pure ammonia in my country. Can i use ammonium bicarbonate?

Dropped in a market shrimp for 24hrs. Ammonia raised to 0.25.
Removed it and measured water 24 hrs later.

Ammonia:0
Nitrite: 0

Guess i good to go. Gonna change water and transfer my fishes over slowly

Transferred all my existing fishes and coral over.
Having initial diatom, a bad one actually.

Dosing Fauna Marin Ultra Bak 0.15ml at half the recommended dose. Phosphate is zero. Nitrate between 5-12ppm(Nyos)

Previously thought i had diatom issue but turns out its most likely cyano. My nitrate is also not going down

Its looks like film of rust color, covering almost my entire sand bed.

Below is my plan:
1) do water change and suck out the cyano
2) do a 72 hrs black out. Cover the tank with paper
3) don't feed during the black out
4) continue using fuana marin bacto ball
5) continue dosing fuana marin ultra bak ( 0.15ml for day 1-3, 0.3ml for day 4-7, 0.45ml for day 7-11, 0.6ml for day 11-14 until nitrate is undetectable)
6) check my ro/di for quality

Pls advice if plan is ok or any other additional things

Thanks

Its was like a red mat yesterday and after 18 of no light, it look more like diatom( see pictures). I am confused .
But will still continue as plan

Found my water in storage was TDS of 32 but new water is 0.

It has been more than a month since my last update.

Did a 3 day blackout as mentioned earlier. Diatom were gone but there are two patches where flow is not that good.

Planning on adding a 2nd 6095 and connect both 6095s to a 7097.

Current water parameters:
Calcium: 382 (increasing to 400)
Mg: 1260 ( increasing to 1300)
Nitrate: 15 (need to reduce)
kH: 7.7
pH: 8.1
Phosphate: 0.25
SG: 1.025

2 -3 weeks back NO3 was 50ppm. Started on Fauna Marin Reef Vitality and doing 15% weekly WC. Dropped to 15ppm.

I am using mainly Fauna Marin products. The support from their product forum is excellent.
