My 34 G Solana cube exotic build

Looking great! I had the same tank set up for 3 years until a few weeks ago. If you run into problems with it shoot me a pm and I can probably help out. I've tried 4 hang on skimmers on it as well as many different filtering techniques haha.

Thanks ! What skimmer did you eventually decide on, or like the most ? I'm going to try and fit a hydor slim skim 65, I really want to go insane with this tank so the filtration must be more than adequate.

I never tried the slim skim so I can't comment on that. The one that I found that worked best was the bubble magnus nac5e. It's rated for like 135 gallons so definitely overkill. It worked great but the problem I had with it like you will find with all other skimmers on that tank is that the water level fluctuates too much in the rear chambers even with an ato and changes how the skimmer performs so u was always adjusting it.

That is extreme overkill haha. I've heard really good things about those skimmers though.

Love it man, those kessil's are ace if I had the loot that be my first choice. Wondering where the nps is going to go?

here's a pic of my Solana with the bubble magnus on the back. Check out my new 60g cube build right below yours if you feel like it. It's called "Kevans reef adventures"

Maybe some kind of semi shaded overhang like a shelf held up by your tonga branch. Def following

Looking good. Following along. I started my solana a few months back for the nano in 90 and have fallen in love with it. It's just the right size and the low iron glass is the awesome. I'm running the t5s that come with it but am seriously considering going with the kessil.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the feedback. I love this kessil, it's one of the best things I've ever gotten for my tank. If you have the opportunity to get one, even if it's a little bit more expensive than you'd like, go for it. You won't be disappointed in the slightest.

Make the jump. It's perfect for the Solana. And I agree, it's an awesome tank. A rimless cube with starfire glass and a built in overflow ? How much better can it get ? Thanks for following also, I promise you're in for a ride haha.

I have a montipora skeleton that I plan on glueing to it to create a nice over hang like you said, it will give it a nice touch. Should I add a zoa garden in it ? Hmmmmm...

Thank you, I'm very proud of it haha.
For the NPS I'm planning on doing an easy care gorgonian, a large colony of sun polyps, and maybe a tube anemone. I'm still deciding where to put everything, but it won't be thrown in there, I'll make it smooth and pleasing to the eye, definitely well planned out so the tank looks professional, but unique.

By the way, I decided to ditch the idea of drilling it and adding a sump. It's just unnecessary, a small amount of some of the equipment showing really doesn't bother me. The tank will look so good it won't matter anyways haha :p

On about 10% intensity and just look what it does to my room lol.

I love this concept!! Tagging along!! :)

Going to order a new skimmer, CAD lights PLS-50 Elite, the coralife 65 was way too loud, and bulky. just wasn't cutting it for me. With this skimmer it'll fit tight in the first chamber and remain completely silent, unseen unheard.

I tried this skimmer and could not get it to fit into the first chamber. Sorry to rain on your parade:( The tunze 9002 does fit into the first compartment with a slight modification of the magnets location and the upgraded skimmer cup from In Tank. The Tunze is quieter that the cad also. If you haven't checked out In Tank yet they have some nice toys for the solana. If you haven't pulled the trigger yet on the cad skimmer and still want to Ill make you a sweet deal on a slightly used one:)

Craaaaaaaaap. I've tried looking for a 9002 and couldn't find one ! And are you sure about quietness ? Everyone I've seen who's owned a CAD 50 Elite says its dead quiet. Oh, did you try fitting it in the first chamber without the mounting option ? I've already ordered it.
