My 34f Fish List - Am I Insane?

Hey everyone, I'm building a new Reefer 170 (34g) reef tank and I've been researching fish for my stocking fish list. I pretty sure this is what I want to go with, so, am I nuts or do you guys like it?

1. Snowflake Clown
2. Pygmy Angel
3. Black Cap Basslet
4. McCosker's Wrasse
5. Helfrichi Firefish
For the Bottom
6. Tail Spot Blenny
7. High Fin Banded Goby

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Seems like a good list except I don't think the angel will be all that comfortable in a 34g. Unless it's a longer tank, what are the dimensions?

It's a 24" x 20" tank, and, the more I think about it, the more I agree with you. I'm also afraid of them nipping at coral and I don't want that headache, so he's out.

Would love to see a mandarin in there one day

I'm scared of the Mandarin, I had one in my 75 and I believe he starved to death. I seeded the tank with pods but he just didn't seem to get enough food. And I don't want another fish death on my conscience.

And I've decided against the Angel both because of tank size and because of potential coral munching.

Any other thoughts??

I agree with not adding the angel. As for the mandarin, I’ve been supplementing my tank with freshly hatched baby brine shrimp so my mandarins have huge bellies . I have never seeded the tank with copepods but it has run for a year before I added the Mandys so the population is sustainable.

I would love to include a Mandarin down the road. Where does one get freshly hatched baby brine shrimp and won't the other fish eat them?
