I started my 36 bow mixed reef with 15 gallon sump in 2017. I have 2 kessil 360 tuna blues and a current led for fill. I have 4 hydor powerheads with a wavemaker. I have a Rio return pump and a reef octopus skimmer. I use a gravity fed ato with a float valve and use a jebao 4 head doser for my esv doses. I have mixed corals, snails, strawberry conch, melanareus wrasse, and 2 perc clowns which have spawned.

Very nice!
Any advice for a fellow 36 bow front owner?
Just make sure to watch where you put corals that will fight as they grow, ie acans away from favia, and watch where you put corals like toad stool leathers and monticaps so they don’t shade other corals. Be careful with encrusters like cyphastria and leptos so they don’t overtake everything.

Perfect timing with that advice!
I finally have my needed lighting so the corals are getting placed very soon. The only encrusting corals I plan on are going on the sand bed. Hopefully that will keep them in check.

My challenge now is trying to figure out flow. Seems like anything but the smallest pump on the lowest setting is too much for the tank.

I have a hydor 850 nano on front upper right, a 425 nano on upper front left, a 425 nano on upper right back. Just recently I added a Hydor 1350 with the attachment that widens and slows its flow- to accommodate my acros in the top of my tank.

I use the smart wave to turn the back 425 and left front 425 on at the same time and then alternate flow by having them off and the right 850 come on.

I love the look of mature tanks. Very nice

Here is my tank last year before I had to remove my large toadstool on the upper left that was shading my Zoanthids.

Getting a 65 gallon tank in February and moving up; my reef needs expansion room!
