My 40g Nuvo setup... Just a update

I just want to thank all the awesome people here. I wouldn't of gotten this far and been this confident without all of you...I truly appreciate it. So my cycle is beginning. I ordered ammonia from BRS and added that today. I still haven't turned on my protein skimmer. I remember someone saying to run it with the collection cup off. I'm setting the eheim thermoter right now. I have just one 425gph powerhead. Should I add another?

I plan on pushing the rock work all the way against the wall and adding some more. Also, so far what do people think of the rock work. I was told i need a bit more so the fish can lay low when the fuzz show up.
