My 50

Man, I need to start looking for someone local to help me design something for my fixture. ;)

I really like that you made it really modern and sleek. :)

Thanks, but I have to get credit where credit is due.
TheDoogan's shallow rimless tank. - Reef Central Online Community

I saw this thread and loved the look of the aluminum bar for it's simple and slim design.

I went with a look that had some angles to go with the square box that is the light..

Finally got something done.
Radion finally installed

Great looking tank. Shame about the front glass. But at least you set it up. I did the same thing to a previous tank, was heartbreaking, but what can you do...just learn from mistakes. How are you liking the radion compared to the Zt5s?

Thanks bobbyM, Lilmatty5dimes, and Sahin.

I just put the Radion up Saturday so I really haven't had time to really form a opinion.
Right now I've got the light on basic mode and have the intensity turned way down.
Wish the instructions were a little clearer on how to do the setup on my pc.
It's going to be tough beating my T5's. I tried T5's for the first time last year and became a fan real fast.
Just for grins and giggles, I put my old 250watt mh canopy back on the tank a couple months ago, just to compare.
First thing I noticed was the temp shot up 4 degrees. So off it came.

I really like my new SSA CS7 skimmer.
Hidden from view and 5x the skimate.

I'm going to have to steal your idea on hanging your lights if my plans works out. the plan is to sell my 90g for a 150g cube. lets see some more coral pics

Check this one out.
This where I got my idea.
At first I liked the curved one, but decided to go with angles.

I have to get my camera adjusted to the new leds color.
really makes it difficult to get accurate color on the corals.

Love this tank, came across it while doing some research actually :)

Sorry if I've missed it when reading, but How thick is the glass you used?

I have a spare 55 gal, and a 50gal standard laying around and I'm most likely going make shallow tank out of the dimensions of the 55 but sideways. 48Lx21Wx12.5H
The glass is .25 . And I've read that with glass thickness you only really take into account the Height, and everything else really doesnt come into play.

I ordered 3/8" glass

switched from Acan Lighting to Radion's and couldn't be happier...i've got them on natural mode which i am not sure of lighting intensity but my corals look great i have had not a single bleaching incident that wasnt purely water chemistry malfunction and have seen unbelievable growth and color in all my corals...i'm sure you will love the radion as you come to know it better =)

At first I wasn't totally sold on them, but wanted to give it a try.
Now, after getting in touch with Jon at Ecotech, I have the Radion program setup on a acclimation program.
Over a 4 week period the light will go from a maximum intensity of 40% to a maximum of 63%.
The light comes on at a minimum blue at 9am and slowly ramps up to the max at 1pm and stays that way until 4:30 and then starts ramping down until 9pm and then goes into a lunar cycle.
No more timers. :)
Yeah, I'm sold.

I guess it's been a while since I updated my 50 gallon tank thread.
I had a friend come over and take some pictures with my camera. Hopefully I learned from him and can do it myself soon.
