This is going to be a great build and your helpers are super cute!! :)

Your helpers look like they are doing more supervising than helping.
The dog looks like he just fell asleep where he was standing.

Very cool build so far. I love a perfect mixture of aquarium building and house renovations. Looking forward to following this one.

Is that a bengal?

Yes he's a Bengal from Oakland hills bengals here in Michigan.....

Was trying to get the steel beams in place today and start on the stand but I'm not superman and I couldn't set them myself unfortunately :(

More to come thanks for following along everyone!

We have one too. Ours in about 6 months now.

Well my bro came by, we managed to get the beams under the house with the two of us no problem, however the little adjustable station posts are about 3" too big, I could cut them down, I think I'm just going to dig out a small footing for them and set them in concrete instead. I wasn't planing on the concrete but I think it will be a lot better than just wood pads like I was going to do. I'll be starting that tomorrow... Digging under the house... I think that will be the worst part of this project :) I also bought all the wood for the stand so I'll probably frame that while I'm waiting for the concrete to set up.... More pics of the madness coming soon! Thanks for following along guys and gals....! :)

Well I made time to get my stand built today.... Still was not able to get pad poured in crawl space for beams, hopefully tomorrow! I still have to sheet the top and sides with plywood.....

Last pic is left open so I can slide sump half under display.....

Well all, last night was probably the worst part of the whole build! But it's a done deal now! I ended up digging out a 4x12 foot area of the crawl space to pour a pad to hold the weight of the tank, I went with 4x12x 6" thick I had to dig the area deeper than that of course... I used 40 bags of quick Crete 5000 which in 28 days with hold 5000#s per square inch, so we should be good! Had to go and get 2 loads from Home Depot cause it weight like 3200lbs .... I rented a cement mixer and it took about 3 hours to get er dun.... So the cement is curing and I'll set the beams in a week or so... No rush since the tank is not ready yet, but next up is replacing the flooring and getting my floor drains in .....

Well things slowed down a bit here :sarcastic:, I have the floor sheeted and tank in place, tomorrow or tonite I will try to get the top and sides sheeted. My aluminum arrived to skin the stand so I need to get on it! Got an email from Steve at Great Lakes aquariums, my sump is ready so I will try and get that picked up in the next few days and put my baffles in and get it drilled.... So much to do...:fie:

Still have to crawl back under the house and set the beams as well, giving the concrete good cure time......

Well little update today I was able to get the stand sheeted and get the aluminum started, it's hard to invasion what the stand will look like this early in it but here's a couple pics, the trim work will be hand scrapped oak same as the floors, and there will be rivets or stainless screws added to the stand as well for that aircraft look. I drew inspiration from my aviator chair from restoration hardware...
