I love the target more than the popular red & green. That species is much more likely to eat frozen foods than the other coloration. When I put that little female in the tank she was very starved and sickly straight out of the bag. So I put her directly in the 60. She eats everything, pellets, flake, frozen, pods, and baby shrimp. I usually recommend to people who want a mandarin in a smaller tank to have a breeding pair of skunk shrimp with it. They breed like crazy and the mandarin loves hunting down little live animals like that. However if you regularly dose with iodide that will keep them from breeding and releasing babies. I'm not sure of the exact technical reason why but I have noticed since I started using it mine have stopped breeding. And they both were always pregnant together. Still don't know how that all worked out lol.
