So I'm moving up from a 38 gallon Innovative Marine tank to a new SC Aquariums 66 gallon cube tank with starfire glass on 3 sides with a custom stand and a glass sump 32x24x20. This will be my last tank until I can build my custom 240 but that is a long time away from now. I have learned a lot in the 2 years I have been doing this. I really enjoy the hobby even though I get really mad at times. I'm going to take my time and do everything all nice and neat looking. I'll post pics as I get things coming in.

Ok update. Not doing a 66 gallon SC Aquarium. I'm doing the 50 gallon SC Aquarium. One the eBay auction at $565 for a $800 tank brand new with everything need to get up and running. Some things I'm going to change on it are as follows.

Vertex filter sock holder and 200 micron filters (Not going to run the bio balls)
Vertex Omega 150 Shimmer
Sicce 3.0 pump
Schedule 80 pipe and fittings
Check valve
Ball valves
Eco tech powerhead and battery backup eventually do the Gen2 light if I can get my old one sold.

I'll get some pics post of things I get when it comes in.

Ok here is an update on stuff. Had to change things up do to the sump not being compatible with the vertex skimmer. I had to buy a trigger systems sump to fit the skimmer in. Just modified the sump to run my probes and auto top off here are a few pics of that. I also went and bought schedule 80 pipe and fittings. Found a local retailer that sells spears products. I saved close to $100 due to finding a place locally. All the online guys were selling this stuff for almost double. I got 40ft total of pipe for $6.99 1/2" and $7.99 1" online it was $7.99 1/2" for 5ft and $8.99 for 5ft.

Here is a little teaser. I'll post the rest tomorrow. They said I couldn't hard plumb the chiller just proved everyone wrong. I love it when folks tell me I can do something and prove them wrong.

I like the creative use of space attaching the pump controllers to the BBU. Are you seeing any issues with the pumps communicating with them attached to it? I'm building a cube myself and looking at ways to conserve space and still be able to neatly "cram" everything under the display without any rat's nests. Sump floor is about same as your's all sump. Nice tank too.

Thanks tank still needs a little more work but all minor but should be good to go by the end of the week. As far as the controllers communicating with one another has no issues. If I turn one off the other turns off. I did change it up to where I can adjust the speed instead of using the preset setting. One thing I have an issue with is the in sump return pump. The issue I have is heat the syncra 3.0 brought my heat up to about 83* but now with the chiller my temp is at 77*. With that being said you might have a heat issue but each tank is different. Can't wait to see your tank.

I'm still looking at return pumps, but haven't fully decided. I have plenty of room in my return section to find a god choice. I looked at the Sicce pumps, but if they have heat issues that a deal breaker.

Very nice job! Looking good.

Yeah I'm running a Sicce well running 3 of them. One for the chiller, protein skimmer and return pump. I really think all the heat is coming from the return pump however, I'm really glad I invested in the chiller. Don't have to worry about the tank over heating or getting to cold.

I'm considering a chiller myself, but not so sure it would help with possible situation i'd want it for. Had a/c issues for a while and would concerned about it failing running it in 90+ F temps. About the only time i'd personally have a need for it.

Been moving and haven't had time to update. Moved the tank from Oklahoma to Colorado. Lost some stuff during the move but back up and running with even better results. Build quality I like. The company is great to deal with. If something is wrong that will fix it with no issues. The return pump issue with the heat don't think that was the issues at all. Might have been the house I was in. I'm in an apartment in Colorado and have no heat issues what so even(knock on wood). I have changed some things up in the tank and will get new pics uploaded after I get back from "Hell." Here is what it looks like now I'll get more detailed pics soon.
