So I've always loved small desktop aquariums but was always to afraid to take the risk but finally decided what the heck. Hopefully this wasn't a mistake lol

Equipment list:
Tank- Mr. Aqua rimless 7.5 gallon 12x12 cube
Filter- Fluval HOB 5-20 gallons 100gph
Heater- 50 watt
Lighting- Current USA Orbit Marine Aquarium LED Light 18 to 24 inch (a bit long for the tank but it does the job)
I used a 12 pound live rock that I broke up some to make a cave and 5 pounds of live sand.
I also had a custom glass top made to help with evaporation and have a smart ATO micro on order.

Anyone have any suggestions on a very small powerhead fan? If it's to big of a fan it'll move all the sand to one area of the tank, but I'd like to have to movement under the water. It's a 12x12 cube so it has to be small.

I like the little tunze nano stream, it's adjustable. I don't mind it blowing my sand around a bit. It's pretty easy to fix in a tiny tank.

Thank you and nice looking tank!

Thanks! I just threw it together out of some spare parts I had laying around when I tore down my 75g to "get out of the hobby" didn't last but a week and I had this tank up. I have a few Zoa frags in it now as well as an emerald crab and two snails. I might take it down once my 29g is more established [emoji23] I also built the tank myself!

Not bad at all for a quick throw together!

Quick little update on my tank, decided to add an ATO and after doing some research the smart ATO micro seemed to have good reviews. Haven't cleaned up all the wires yet so don't mind the mess lol. I plan on upgrading my RO water storage in the future to an acrylic reservoir when funds aren't as tight.

I really need to get an ATO... let me know what you think of that one.

So far I really like it and haven't had any issues with how it works or hooks up. Only complaint I have is that I think you should be able to turn the beeping off, it beeps whenever it tops off.

Mine runs that ATO, the only problem that I have with it, is the optical sensor gets coralline algae growing on it, then it can't detect the drop in water level, It's easy to keep from happening, you just need to clean the optical sensor every so often. (I just did mine tonight). Other than that it has been a very nice little ATO. :)

I never thought about that happening, thanks for the warning!
