So I am about 1year 4 months into this tank, my first reef tank. I had FOWLR going on for about 7 years before this in a 55 gallon breeder and finally made the jump to a mixed reef tank quest. Super excited to see everything grow and learning so much along the way.
So my new build is a 70 gallon Oceanic. It's old school, but it works, for now...I have a 20 gallon sump underneath, with C7 skimmer and a reef octopus varioS-4 return pump, eheim Jager heater, 2 Nero 5 wave makers...im sure I'm forgetting something, but that's what I can remember so far...

Looks great. I have the same tank and have been happy with it for 11+ years now. They don't overbuild them like that these days.

Added a Kamoer X1 doser last week, and running All for Reef at 5mls total per day spaced out over 12 times per day...

I just got this doser today and planned on dosing 15 ml of All-for-Reef daily, but i connected pump, and dam thing runs continuously all the time, does not stop running. I even loaded a schedule to run daily the 15 ml, but pump wont stop running, you ever run into this issue?

Did you set the hours of operation first? I wasn't able to get the hourly schedule to work until I told it what hours to run first. After that I was able to go into setup and tell it how much and how many times to dose.

I just entered in total amt for day, and how many times I want it, and it did the rest for me...it was super easy and straightforward...haven't had to tinker with it yet...sorry

May also need to run calibration so it knows how many ml per minute the pump produces.

You say you dose 5ml of All-For-Reef a day? how big is your tank (how much water volume?), also, how often do you do water changes considering your dosing AFR?

Yes, 5ml per day spaced out over 12 increments...I do weekly 10% water changes, and 20% roughly every 5 weeks

And your parameters for Alk and Cal remain steady? at what levels? What Salt do you use? What water volume are you working with?

that is almost an exact copy of my setup (76 gallon and 25-30 gallon sump), maybe I should lower my dosing, I'm currently dosing 15ml a day separated in 3 doses of 5 ml every 8 hours (9 am, 1 am and 5 pm)

Maybe space them out..smaller amounts through the day, so there isnt a any kind of swing in chemistry...the smaller the better seems to work well...ive noticed lately since I added more corals that my cal is being used a bit more, so rather then increasing all for reef, I've just dosed small amounts of calcium over a cpl days...and it stays stable for a cpl weeks until I repeat the process...good luck

I just started the dosing this Saturday, ill keep it same total amount for a week, retest, see where I'm at and adjust it then. I have spaced out the doses to 6 (every 4 hours), lets see how it works, thanks for the advice.

Tank is going well, bumped up dosing to 7.5mls of All 4 Reef, noticed I was burning alot of Calcium and Mg...so now also hand dosing those daily...so far so good though... 20211031_161204.jpg

So I got some frags from WWC and my first acro as well. I rearranged some stuff in the tank, and im trying out a new idea for my euphyllia...im going to see how they do on the back wall! I fragged a couple little pieces and placed them directly onto back wall! Couple days in, and I think they look great, and will begin to add more to the wall as they are ready to be fragged from my euphyllia garden! 20211106_172856.jpg Full Tank
