I am going to treat with lanthanum chloride this evening and Saturday

How's the new clown? Has your female beaten him into submission yet?

They are like two peas in a pod. She killed the other one and this one they paired up in about 10 minutes and are very happy:)

Thank you for asking

5/29
Phosphates .06
I have a diatom out break, most like due to all the treatments.

Rough man... sure hope things continue to improve. You have any issues with silicate??
I am thinking with a the treatments, not running carbon, and skimmer got my nutrients out of wack and I am going through a mini cycle. I am doing a WC tomorrow which should help

Ahhhhh, tomorrow is tank maintenance day with the suggested @120reefkeeper W/C
It is odd, all the filtration is gummed up the brown garbage. Pulled the top sponge of the new GFO reactor and the flow is much better.
Corals and fish look great.

update tomorrow after the scrub

I may have missed it somewhere along the thread, but do you have any issues with the two tangs? I'd like to add a yellow tang to my 150 after moving everything over from my 40 breeder, but I'm weighing the potential problems with my current kole tang.

Not at all. Yes the sailfin will chase the hippo, but they also hang out. The key is like clowns, finding the right match.

Todays numberssssss
Ca 465
Mg 1200
Alk 8.68
No3 4ppm
PO4 .28 dosed lanthanum chloride yesterday when it was a .68 and I will dose again today. Also change out and add more GFO and took out the top filter in the new reactor and that seem to make a big difference. Once the GFO reactor is calibrated (me learning how to use it:oops:) My phosphate should be more manageable and my cyano algae will have a slow death;Vamp
Adding Mg to the water change water to bring up the Mg. I have not change the 1+2+3+ dose just adjusting the elements
Thank look great though. Corals are happy and growing.

Ok, looked at the reactor this morning and the GFO is percolating like it is supposed to be:).

Well the phosphates are down to .03 and I am going to dose a 1/2 dose of ATM agent green which the main ingredient is lanthanum chloride. This has really helped me drop my phosphates along with running a good reactor
Alk is down to 9.0 with Hanna checker, phosphates were also tested with a Hanna checker. I am really dig the testers, and I am finding that the are more reliable then the old Red Sea tests.

What I am trying to do is get the phosphates down to zero and starve out the remaining cyano. The phosphate will come back up with in range soon enough;)
