My 72 Bowfront Build Revised Thread

It's small, not impressive, but totally loved.

I just always like learning from you guys.

Todays numbers
Ca 460 Red Sea
Ca 562 Hanna (ran 3 test since this my first time with Ca)
Mg 1440 with fresh test kit with Red sea, tests have been reading in the 1100's in the past three weeks until I switched the a new kit;)
Alk 9.3 Hanna
Alk 8.2 Red Sea
PO4 .08 Hanna
Nitrates 1ppm Red Sea
Temp 78.4
PH 8.13
Conductivity 33.3
Conclusion I have been having some inconsistencies with my testing and I am losing faith with Red Sea test kits. Still waiting for Aquaforest test kits to come out to compare.
Actionions: I cut back on dosing of 1+2+3+ since all reading are reading high tp 32ml broken into 8 doses of 4 ml every 3 hours. I am thinking 36 ml per day is where I need to be at though. Tank looks great, and tomorrow will be tank maintenance/cleaning day.

Number for today
Ca 496 Hanna
Mg 1400 Red Sea
Alk 8.7 Hanna
Temp 78.3
PH 8.2
Conductivity 33.8 ooops the ATO needed to be reset.
PO4 read 0 after running three tests, so I guess they are 0 and time to feed, feed, feed.

Does the Hanna Cal. checker have a good track record of being as accurate as their Alk checker?

Thanks, Freddie

I have also heard that people have problems with them. Supposedly you have a tough time getting accurate numbers and the repeatability is dismal.

No idea, I use salifert...I heard its not as good as others like alk or phos.

Thanks Guys,
I've never used the cal checker, not saying it's bad but never used it.

I have used the reader twice. After using the Ca checker twice and making the adjustments that I made Sunday to my big three, I tend to trust the Hanna checker more than Red Sea right now.

I have more issue with the phosphorus checker then the calcium checker. I think it is a learning curve.
