My 72 Bowfront Build Revised Thread

Lest see

The system is still riding. Yesterday I took the parameters and for not making any adjustment for a month the system is staying pretty steady except for the nutrients. Phosphates are way high since I ran out of GFO back in December.

Today I am dosing the light amount of Lanthanum Chloride @.005 per gallon to see what happens and how much of a drop I will have. I just may test a gallon on the side before I dose the hole system just to make sure.

I am going to test again before I dose and after.

Morning. I was just looking for 10 micron socks or materials to make some. I was also looking at this

Sorry about the issues. Looks like you got the tank back on track in no time. Looking good @jsker

I will take responsibility for always experimenting. Once I get the nutrients down the corals will be much happier.

Almost looks like my Hanna digital refractometer. I will look at it later. I am in the outside world:D

The SeaKlear Lanthanum Chloride dosing started. I am dosing .005 ml per gallon (.04 for 80 gallons) with a slow drip in to my filter socks.

I will test when the 1000 liter drip bag empties later and tomorrow.

Question is: Is it any more accurate than the Hanna ULR? For the cost of almost 4 of the Hanna ones, I'll stick with the Hanna...

I agree and had the same thought. I have not had any issues with the Hanna being off with the way I test;)

Ive been going back and forth about getting one for my 100 Gallon, but if you have had yours for 3 years and hasnt outgrown the tank I think I may have to get one.

You won't be disappointed, they are great fish with a ton of personality.

My Blue tang aka Ethel has been great. She is one of the originals to the system from late 2015. Tangs as you know stress easily and get Ich easily. I would suggest feeding SeaCheme metroplex with focus mixed with frozen for the first week, also add some vitamin C to the mix. This mix helps the whole system, if you QT I would still do the same to build the immune system up for the stress of shipping. I would also feed the DT the same.
