Used a check valve with the ball removed because I had a charlie Brown type accident with pipe measurement. It works just fine.
 
I've noticed that my Finnex titanium 300w Heater needs to be set around 86 degrees to give my a temp of 78.5 degrees. I have 4 different thermometers plus the reefkeeper and they all read the same. I thought it was one of the best for accuracy, but it is crazy far off.
 
Thanks! It works perfectly. I have a GFO reactor made the same way. Cheap, but still looks good.
