Hey everyone,

I am new here and pretty new to saltwater aquariums. I kept freshwater tanks my whole life and finally made the jump to salt just a few months back.

My setup was given to me for free as an established tank. It has been running for about a year now. All inhabitants are happy, parameters are perfect and it's really starting to purple up!

Ok, so I don't know all the details of the tank, as I am not the one who bought it. For example, I'm not sure the brand of skimmer and I don't know the weight total of the LR.

Here's what I do know... Its a 90gal display with a 36(ish) gal sump. There's a large in sump, protein skimmer (that works very well). Heater is Eheim Jaeger 250w glass heater. Pump is a mag drive but not sure the size. There's a ton of live rock... Some in the sump and lots in the display. I have a 48" Current USA compact fluorescent light fixture. The bio material in the sump is made up of shells, crushed coral, larger coral chunks and live rock.

There's no nuisance algae but there is aiptasia. Which brings me to my stock list.

1 Copperband Butterfly
1 Longnose Hawkfish
1 Lyretail Anthias
1 Dartfish
1 Flame Angel
1 Diamond Watchmen Goby
1 Yellow Coris Wrasse
2 Peppermint (have only seen one since I added them months ago)
2 Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
A bunch of snails and Hermit crabs for the cleanup crew (don't know species... They were in there when I got the tank).

So, the idea of the copperband and the peppermints was to eat the aiptasia... Neither have touched it. I would prefer not to have to treat it constantly but I can live with it, if there's no natural way to get rid of it.

My question is, can I add more fish? And if so, how many? I would like to add a pair of clowns. I think I like the perculas better than. The occerallis but I'm open to suggestions. I'm not familiar with the differences other than the visuals I see.

My wife wants a blue fish... As in the color blue. So, a nice blue fish would be a hippo tang but they get very large for a tank of this size. I also looked at damsels and chromis but I'm concerned about the damsels wreaking havoc on other tank mates. Does anyone have ant suggestions for a blue fish to go with my tank mates?

Sorry for the long post... I hope I provided enough info but if I haven't maybe I can answer whatever questions you have.

Thank you,

Rob.

Love all the branchs in the aquascape.

Thanks, scruggy. That's a pretty cool looking fish. I know I have never seen one in a LFS. Thats where I would prefer to buy from. I guess I will keep my eye out or buy online.
