So last year I had a pretty bad crash on the reef. I was busy with work, got additional pets, picked up some new hobbies and it just fell into the common neglect I think many people's tanks do.
Fast forward a year and we've made some considerable changes to the tank.
-Kalkwasser was adopted and it was a great decision. My chronically low pH was seemingly instantly resolved.
-Monthly ICP tests were started and small issues that were actually big issues were found out.
-I put the tank on an auto-feeder and have the fish eating flake every couple hours to entertain themselves. They get LRS daily as well.
-2x Weekly coral feedings
Alongside all these new changes, I've continually tested out new foods and new "methods" on the reef which are still going on.
-"DIY" reef snow is being used to handle water clarity issues. If it works for cyano as well that'll be nice as I've had a patch that seemingly never goes away
-Sodium nitrate gets dosed daily to keep things on the up and up but I'll likely be increasing fish
-All operations on the reef have to be automated as I travel a lot for work
And for the fun part... pics below
