This is my first reef tank, and thank you all who helped me with my previous rounds of algae (Calothrix, then Red Cyano).

My red cyano is gone, and with its demise a number of green “mats” have spread to some areas of rocks and sand, and unlike the past two my CUC seems rather uninterested in eating this stuff.

My first impression from reading and google is some form of Cyano (Blue/Green). Hoping for a diagnosis from more experienced eyes and any tips on removal.

I’m hesitant to blast it from the rocks in case this causes it to spread everywhere all at once…

Photos taken under whites.

gravel vac it, it comes off in big chunks and is super easy to get out of there.
