I'm noting that they use 10 3Watt Crees. How large is your screen? (These specs kind of seem to match Turbo's guidelines.)

Looks like I'm starting to get growth like you've got, labas39. I had a really bad cyano carpet on my sandbed, and I left the lights off in the DT for two days; I don't know if that's what got rid of the cyano, or if it's the ATS (since its been running for a few weeks now), but the cyano has gradually gone completely away.

heres how my tank looks now; its not much to look at, I need more coral, but you get the idea! (sorry its kinda dark... just ordered a new 48 inch quad t5 fixture and it hasn't arrived yet, so I'm using a small 36inch 2 bulb t5 in the interim)

That looks awesome! It seems that you have a bit more light green than I do, however.

hahaha, they're under cabinet LED's from Ikea (I laugh because altogether, theyre only 3.4W), but they seem to be doing something.

Cheers mate, she's only been running about 5 months, but starting to get there now. Is it true algae needs a rest period. I currently run mine 24/7

I've read that is needs a break but I'm not qualified to answer that. Mine are on for 20 hours. I'm thinking of going up to 22.

If the price is doable, do you think that Kessil H150's would be overkill? They're 24 watts.

If not, what color? They have red, purple, magenta and blue. Their literature says purple is for all stages so I was thinking people.

Yes algae need a dark time. 18 hours of light is a good start.

Lit 24/7

I'll do a comparison next week to see what lite is working best

Nice setup! You have plenty of room in that sump! Looks like a 100 gallon stock tank!

I can say that part of my issue is not enough flow. The start and end of my screen has more flow then the center of the screen and the growth on those two ends is much higher. I removed 6 inches of hose from the pump and the flow in the center is a little better. I'm going to drop my ATS to reduce the head a bit more.
