My anemone might be bleaching, what should I do?

I've had this ritteri for about 3-4 months now, and it hasn't moved an inch. I actually moved it once, just because I was re-scaping the tank and putting some new coral in at the time. It seems to be bleaching a little on one side, while half of it is still vibrant and purple, the other side is beginning to go clear.

This has started to happen after my clownfish died, it used to host them. It's been a few weeks since they passed and it's now starting to bleach. Should I move it higher? Maybe it was getting nutrients from them, and now since they've gone it will require the light more? I'm unsure. I didn't used to feed it, but I fed it last night to see if that would help. Unsure how much food it accepted, the frozen mysis is quite fine but I assume it took some on.

I would feed it for sure. Mysis, Reef roids, etc and see if that helps.

H. Magnifica don't always take well to direct feeding. I learned this after trying to feed mine and it looked like death for three days. Went around looking for some information and it seems this is not at all Uncommon.

Can tell it's in a bit of a bad spot because it used to grab as much mysis as it can, and would sting my cleaner shrimp if it went anywhere near. Yesterday when I fed, the cleaner just absolutely ran wild inside the anemone and took some of the food hence not knowing how much it actually managed to eat

I'll run a test tonight. I've just been eyeballing it based off my SPS health which are doing really well at the moment.

Generally parameters for SPS, health and anemone health aren't necessarily aligned. I'd be interested to see what your dissolved nutrient levels are.

What sort of lighting are you running over this mag?

I’ll get back to you with test results in a short while. As for lighting just a single AI prime 16HD on a Red Sea 170. That’s why my initial thoughts were to move it closer to the light for the time being since most of its nutrients will come from light now and not clownfish poo and food. I’ll be getting a second light in the middle of next month.
