My anemones love my pumps

They have been slowly wrapping around the pump that feeds the hangon refugium. If it's fine by them, then it's fine by me.

Before I clicked, I thought the title was going to ironic/sarcastic about anemones and their misadventures with vortechs and other flow pumps. I keep mesh screens on my pumps (including the gyres) to keep the wandering buggers out of trouble.

@rkpetersen Do you have a link to the material you used? I have some BTA's that are attracted to my Vortechs. I had one go through, didnt end well for it. It is making a comeback, the funny thing is I have a Vortech on the oppisite side, Pump is not on.. Guess what wandered across the entire tank to attach inside the Vortech!!!

I just use these. I don't understand some of the negative reviews, they work great for me, keeping a nearby bta out as well as other critters like snails and stars. It's true that food does collect on them; some of it gets eaten right off the mesh by shrimp and wrasses, but I pull the cover off the pump and clean it once a week as well. They are kinda pricey for what they are.

Oh I have used those before! Forgot about them. I’ll have to install those ASAP. As you can see they love pumps! Lol

Are these the ones that fit the Neptune wav pumps too?

I have 3 jebao pumps in the tank without any protection. The BTA's are too small to cause a serious problem.

I have a magnifica a couple of inches away from 2 jebaos and the external skimmer intake. I am not feeling comfortable with that. I will be upgrading the tank and hopefully I can find a safer solution.
