I like your video. I have a similar "method" in that I observe and treat when I have a reason. However, my QT is cycled with rocks and sand. It is very similar to the 2nd tank you showed in your video only no sump - just 2 HOB filters, heater, etc.
Have you tried using CP or copper in your main QT (the one with the HOB and biomedia)? If so, how did it go? I've never had to use either drug. I have tanks I can set up as uncycled, sterile QTs if the need arises, but it was my bad outcomes with sterile tanks that led me to my current QT in the first place.

Great video! Thanks for showing us. Love seeing in your secret aquatic dungeon! Observational QT here as well. Medicare if warranted but no reason to blast the immune system for all.

I have not had to use copper in years. CP I have used in the 20L on a few occasions and it was fine. There are conflicting reports on whether CP kills the bio filter or not; I don’t find that it does. 20L can function both as an observational QT and as a hospital tank. The mini reef tank QT never gets meds.

Thanks for the reply! I've considered putting a bag or 2 of bio media into my sump in case I needed it to seed a hospital tank but keep forgetting to actually do it. Good to know I'd be able to use CP with it.
