Thats so awesome. I really thinking about getting the medium with the airstar pump....thought about the large until i talked to some guys on RC.

Do you know if this "preserves" phyto like the claim of KZ conical skimmers?

BTW..2 and 1 ....gross...

The Large is a Monster, Good for a 400-600g tank..

I think the plankton friendly claim made by KZ is just a marketing gimmik-
Chadfarmer is running the 2 side by side & this is what he said:

i ran the kz for over 8 months and the first week of having the ATB i got a full cup of skimmate (with the kz was getting only a half cup of skimmate and they were about the same black)

I have not found 1 ATB customer that doesn't rant & rave about how good the cone really is.. I was skeptical at first but this thing is just a monster, and the customer service is the best I've seen. I still get calls every few weeks just to see how I'm doing.. Who else does that??

Jeff your skimmer looks like it needs more air,,, Just kiddin.

here is the last 4 days from my ATB small, this is the best skimmer i have ever used by far.

do these come with the pumps to run them, if not, which pumps are you using?

yes they come with pumps, mine is a Sicce psk 2500, Jeffs is an Eheim 1260, both needlewheel but there is a mesh option for the eheims..

the medium comes with eheim or Airstar pumps and the large comes with Airstar only.

the Airstar is like a Red dragon, laguna pump based.
