My recent ICP test showed that I am low on a few elements. I just wondered if there is evidence to replace them, or if they are minimally important. I do 3 to 5 gallon daily water changes on a 200 gallon system. I use live aquaria salt.

My bromine is 12.86 mg/l they recommend 61
My fluorid is 0.62mg/l they recommend 1.19
My iodine is 11.94ug/l they recommend 59.55
My Manganese is u. They recommend 0.92
My Vanadium is u. They recommend 1.37
I assume u. Is undetectable.
Do I need to increase my water changes to keep these levels in check? I have always felt like I overdid them if anything.

I have been having some rtn and Stn and wondered if any of these could be the cause. The most obvious problem is I have Tin levels at 15.77 ug/l. I have taken steps to hopefully correct this, but I want to make sure I am doing everything I can. Looks like my homewrecker Acro is starting to stn today and that is a real heartbreaker for me.

Thanks in advance

David

I doubt that the RTN is due to those, but it might be a fine plan to get a supplement that has vanadium and manganese. Those can be consumed rapidly, especially manganese. Even a little macroalgae can suck it all up.

Bromine and Fluorine are very low priority, and I wouldn't bother except as a last priority experiment. ESV makes (or used to make) such a supplement.

Iodine has more biological uses, but still may not be useful in your tank. I'd suggest trying it as an experiment.
