Got him about 2 months ago and he decided he wanted to hide and never come out in the lights. Today, I've moved him back in to the light, I'll track progress here and I'm open to any suggestions.

Day 1: (His mouth isn't usually open, I moved him 5 minutes before this picture)

Day 3:

He looks like crap when the lights are on. At night when the lights are off, he is fully open, but his tentacles are still short.

Amm 0, Nitrate 5, Phos 0, Temp 77.5

It's hard to tell, but he's a totally different anemone at night. Fully open, mouth closed... what the heck am I doing wrong?

I'll post up a pic tonight or tomorrow, but he's eating every two or three days right now and staying open all day when the lights are on. His mouth isn't swollen or open throughout the day like it was before either. I changed the flow in my tank to keep detritus from settling on the sand and that made him mad so he moved to a spot on the glass. He looks like the night picture above all day. I might be imagining it, but it looks like he's getting some color in his "face" as well.

Sounds like he's starting to recover! Nice job!

Just keep feeding him a little bit of Mysis preferably every day. As long as his tentacles are sticky and he is eating, he should recover. When his tentacles start to get longer and get color you can start slowing down on the feeding. He needs the extra nutrition because he was consuming himself for survival. Great job!

I try to feed him daily, but he really only eats every other day.

I'm offering him krill and silverside.

He has started gaining some small brown spots on his "face(?)" and his tentacles were ever so slightly larger last night. So progress is slow, but noticeable.

Day 17:
Not sure if you can really see it, but his tips are getting fatter. A few of them have some brown in them. He's still eating krill or silverside every other day. Mouth is staying closed and he's in the light all day every day.
