I bought a Lifegard Inteilifeed Autofeeder about a year ago and at some point recently it stopped working. (I noticed my fish looking a little thinner than normal). I tried the feed button several times and nothing happened. I took it apart, like completely apart and cleaned it although it was already pretty clean. The motor and all the parts seem to be in working order. After I put it together it worked fine for a day or two and now isn't working again. I read that the Neptune AFS is made by the same company with Apex's labeling. Can anyone give me any feedback on this... I don't want to buy one if it's going to crap out on me again in a year. The only reason I'm even looking into another auto feeder is because I work from 12 in the afternoon until 10 at night when I should be feeding my tank. I feed at least once before I leave for work but I'd like my fish to have a few feedings throughout the day (mostly for the wrasse and tangs).

From my understanding, you are correct that the feeder is the same as the Apex. Often, these things just die and we have to bite the bullet and get another. If not tied any brand, you might try another manufacturer.

I went with the Eheim autofeeder on two different tanks. Simple design and if you’re careful with the programming it’s super reliable.

The only difference is the Neptune one can be controlled by the Apex.
