Hello,

I just added a used 48" power compact to my tank yesterday and today when the timer kicked on only one half of the lights went on. I was on my way to work and didn't have time to trouble shoot, but if it isn't the bulbs (they are supposedly new), I am wanting to know if this ballast will work on my light?

Here is a link to the light I have:
Saltwater To Go - 48" 4x65 Watt Coralife Aqualite

And here is the ballast I was hoping would be what I need to replace:
Amazon.com: Coralife Aqualight Ballast, 2X65W, Model: SPL-265R-JS: Electronics

I have the old light (T5 x 2) that I took off yesterday, but I need to get this fixed so if anyone is familiar with this stuff please let me know so I can go ahead and order it.

Thanks!

Will

Did you check the connection to the bulb?

Yeah, I plugged it in when I bought it and all lights worked. Then yesterday after I set it up it was working. So, I don't think both sides of the light came out over night (it's the two bulbs on the rear ballast that quit at the same time). It's on a timer and this morning when it came on only the 10Ks fired up, the rear actinic two bulbs didn't, which makes me think it's the ballast. I tried the switch and checked the plug and timer, but all of that is fine.

I am going to switch the working lights over to the unworking side this evening to make sure that it isn't the bulbs, but at that point if it isn't the bulbs I'm going to want to order a ballast to get the problem fixed.

I know these aren't the top of the line lights, but I put a bid on my first house on Friday and there is no way I'm spending big cash on LEDs right now, haha.... So, fixing what I have is the only option right now :(
