My BTA is hiding

I would move the rock if you can. Target feeding might help if he isn't getting much light and needs energy to move.

I always made sure my nems had plenty to eat and they always seemed happy. After splitting they would hide from the light for a couple days, then would hike around the tank till they found a spot they liked (usually about where they started...) and once they found a spot they would stay put. I had a couple "get lost" and do circles in one part of the tank till they made it back to a good spot, but they always seemed to have enough energy to move even without much light. I'm no expert by any means, I had a RBTA for 5 years in a 55 with a pair of mocha clowns.
[/QUOTE Thanks, I will keep spot feeding!

I don't think the light is your problem. I and many others, including @Cbones1979 have kept anemones happy under that same light. Can we get a picture?
Yup. Aqua knight has kept my happy and he hadn’t moved for a month under it all the while getting larger and more spread out. I’m doing partial blackout due to dinos so he was in the move recently because of it. He’s on his way back to his spot since I turned the light back on.

Figured you could add some input :)

My experience is that BTAs are much happier with higher nitrate levels. It is a food source for them.
Wow, I didn't know that, what are some good sources of information on reef keeping?

I never move mine unless on the glass, they will move where they want, disappear for weeks and come back happy and healthy. If your tank is stable. 1 becomes many especially rainbows. I started with one and he's been all over my tank till it found this spot.

This site and others like it are very good sources. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people on this site, including some experts in their areas of expertise. Keep in mind not everyone is the expert they may be making themselves out to be. Read and get ideas than analysis it and decide what makes sense to you. Also there many ways to accomplish the some things in this hobby. There may be 4 different opinions on how to do something and they may all work for that person. Each tank is different as well. The animals we keep often have differing requirements.
I have been Keeping saltwater fish and corals for 26 plus years now and still learn things almost daily about it. That is one of the thinks I like about the hobby. So much to learn if you care to!

I'm running 2 of those exact lights on a 55G. I have the whites on the lowest setting, and the blues on the 3rd lowest setting. My anemone is right in the middle of the tank planted in the crevice of a rock, about 14 inches under water and 20 inches away from the lights.

I've had it a week tomorrow. I think my nitrates we're about 40ppm when I put it in, and I've had an algae bloom for about a week now.

My anemone hasn't budged, at all. It pulled itself deeper into the crevice after I cupped it with my hand long enough for it to grab the edges. It puffs up when the lights come on, catches mysis shrimp that float close by, closes up to shed white mucus daily, closes up and sheds brown mucus when I scrub algae.

It generally seems pretty happy.

My tanks still pretty new, younger than yours I believe. I only decided to try an anemone because I saw what looked like tiny aiptasia, and while getting peppermint shrimp it donned on me that aiptasia is technically an anemone.

Wait, you have two aqua knights on a 55g? I’ve always heard they are for smallish tanks. And to have them that low intensity. Do you have any par readings?

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same lights, unless aqua Knight is another name for the "HIPARGERO LED Aquarium Light".

I don't have par readings, but I have a bunch of algae.

yes, same light. And Maybe that's why my zoas aren't opening. in mid level of tank. Maybe those lights put out more juice than I thought

I never feed mine, the get just what the tank gets. Feeding isn't necessary and will cause bta's it to split unless your lighting isn't good.
