Ok, here we go...Well my tank isnt the fanciest. Its a 140gal display with a 40 gal sump/refug. I just installed a Vectra S1 for my Return Pump. It sucks that most of the cool features are for a closed loop setup. Also doesn't work with Apex. Very disappointed in Neptune and Ecotech for that. it would be so easy. Anyways, for circulation I have two MP-40s mounted at opposite ends of tank.

I’m getting ready to build a Miniature Breeding Station. I’m going to center it around clowns, as I have 3 pair already, but none have spawned yet. I’m thinking that they are still too young from what I’ve read and people have told me. Here’s some pics of the clown pairs. Tell me what you think.

I need some help:advice with my breeding station. If I take all the best suggestions, it should be awesome! Thanks everyone !!

I’ve been culturing Rotifers and Copepods and “dosing” them to my aquarium because I have SOOO MUCH!! My Mandrin....”Manny” is VERY happy!!

He’s huge!! I give him all the copepods he can eat. He’s super fat. Now looking to add a girl Mandrin. But more focus on breeding for now...

My cleaner shrimp is showing some eggs. It’s the first spawn that I’ve seen, as I’ve only had the two for a month and a half. I guess I will be able to use more of those rotifers and copepods to rear some shrimp. I have two skunk cleaners and I have two peppermint shrimp I’d like to play around with rearing some clutch of theirs.

Great looking tank. I love the clown pairs :)

Thanks. Know anything about clowns?? Both the male and female are doing that twitching thing that I only thought males did to show submission? I’m still learning a lot about clown behavior. It’s much different and distinct from other fish.

I'm not positive, but I think that goes both ways as submission and dominance. Both the small male and large female of my bonded pairs will vibrate on their sides at each other. As do my smaller Snowflake clowns in my nano.

Does this have anything to do at all with spawning behavior or just behavior period? Have you had any clutches laid by your clowns yet?

It could be. I have not had any clutches yet. I'm sure that is in part to the changes I keep making. I'm have been trying to get sump and all equipment put together for them.

Just got “Clownfish” by Joyce Wilkerson. It’s such a thorough book about Clownfish. I’m not done yet but I highly recommend everyone tanking a look.
As for my clownfish build, I hope to post some more pics and video.
