I've been using this imagitarium pre mixed salt water that came with the purchase of my tank, I had my water tested and it came back as low in minerals, they recommended I mix my own salt water using instant ocean coral salt the orange bag. Is this stuff no good or can I use the rest

Mixing your own salt water gives you a lot more control over the situation. Tropic Marin Salt or Red Sea salt or both great options for reef tanks. Instant ocean reef crystals also are great if you aren’t one to spend top dollar. I’d also recommend picking up your own test kits. For alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium I would use Salifert. And then for Nitrate and Phosphate, I would get the high range nitrate Hanna Checker and the Ultra low range phosphate checker. I think they are actually really worth the money. I’m not a big fan of other brands for Nitrate and Phosphate.
