MY captain Amer. always curls up..

Hi everyone my Cpt.Amer.paly is open like 2-3 hours and then always curls up alot during the day not all the way but enough to **** me off so I can't enjoy it to the fullest. I see alot in other pics of this is this just a habbit of that paly is there a spot in the tank it does it less like the flow will that cause it to do it all my other hundereds of paly's are fine its nothing to do with water quality or anything like that I'm just thinking it the habbit of that paly any info thx's again...

lol i just write fast this isnt school... had them along time. i just talked to a few people and they say the ends of them curl up alittle too.. I mean there not curling all the way close just the ends of them curl up alittle..

I wouldn't worry about them, my pd's and nuc greens do the same thing.

lol yea sometimes I have so much on my mind that I just write and ramble on with out periods........ or anything, yea I see that nuc's and pd's do the same thing thx's

Yeah they tend to curl up a little
they also like flow they reproduce faster with it

Generally speaking, if you are seeing a lot of curling on a regular basis, I might suspect that they are receiving too much light or maybe flow. Mine open up just fine most of the day, but they do seem to open wider when placed in lower light areas.

I think it would be a flow issue or other corals bothering them

I have three, and they are flat, but are in low flow area

I've had the same problem with my PD and think it's due to flow. Try moving them, we are always experminting with reefing!

OK thats what im thinking cause I remember 3 weeks ago my return filter was clogged and not pushing that much water out and the paly was open more. And I cleaned it out so now it's pushing out alot more water and the flow is pretty fast on them. So I'm goona do a move tonight thx's all for your help ill let you know in a few days if it mad a big difference. I do have 3 nice babies comming up but they do grow slow.. My candy apple red's went from 4 poylp's to 20+ in under 2 months.. thx's again
