I have a large 8 inch diameter chalice that i love and i had to move and after the move my chalice started dying. It is now doing better but my question is will it grow better if i frag it or leave it whole. It has a large spot in the middle doing good but then there is a lot of dead skeleton around it and some of the eyes still alive dotting the rest of it.

Well fragging it may save it from rotting away but if ur don't find out what caused this, ie water, flow, light ext. it won't matter if u frag it or not it will die regardless...
Pics and water para would help

I will check the water parameters tomorrow but it has stopped dying and stayed the same for about 3 and a half weeks now. I'll try and get a before and after pic

Chances are now that it is recovering it will just grow back over the skeleton parts. If you like it big, I'd leave it alone. Happens all the time in nature.

I have a small chunk in a chalice I have that I need to fan of daily to prevent detritus and algae, but it is slowly developing a rim and the hole is getting smaller. I'm not sure how to kill a chalice. I smash mine with rocks to frag as it takes it well.

You smash it with rocks to frag?????? Wow. A razor blade and a hammer works well to. Might look to investing in a few simple fraggin tools haha
