Hi - I recently purchased a 225g Starphire front aquarium for my upgrade. It will be in my possession in about a month. Seller and I agreed to it so I can plan my upgrade.
Anyway, I cant sleep so decided to start my checklist together.
Current tank info: 150g with about ~150lbs of live rock and ~80lbs of sand Stock includes:
- pair of swallowtail angels,
- pair of snowflakes,
- royal gramma,
- yellow goby,
- another goby/shrimp pair (havent seen either in a couple of week but i hear the pistol)
- target mandarin.
The last few fish to be added which are now in QT are Yellow and Kole Tangs, pair of purple firefish, and a cleaner wrasse. Also have a number of SPS/LPS and handful of shrooms, zoas + other softies.
New Tank (package deal from previous owner) - 225g with ~75lbs live rock and ~120lbs of sand. Current stock includes 6 tangs (Purple, scopas, sailfin, white cheek, Lemon Mimic, and forgetting last one). Also have a number of SPS/LPS and softies.
I realize that combining all these livestock maybe too much for a 225g so decided to sell a few locally (fish, corals, and rock)
This is my current fish stock list:
- SwallowTail Angels
- Snowflake clowns
- Royal Gramma
- Yellow Goby
- Goby/shrimp
- Mandarin
- Cleaner Wrasse
- Purple Tang
- Scopas Tang
- Sailfin Tang
- White Check Tang
- Lemon Mimic Tang
- Other Tang im missing
First question - Is this a good list?
- Oct 30th - Pick up all seller's livestock. Fish will go through TTM/QT and corals will go to my old tank after a dip, rocks will go to a bin, and sand will be washed (should i re-use the sand or just buy new ones)?
- Nov 14th - Pick up tank/stand from seller. Clean the tank as much as I can. Set up equipment/plumbing, etc (Ill need to make this more detailed).
- Nov 14th-15th - Fill tank with water, add washed sand and rock from previous seller and my old tank. Let it cycle. Will also use old media from old tank to hopefully speed up cycle.
- After cycle is complete, slowly transfer fish to new tank. (or should I transfer corals first or does it matter)?
- Enjoy new tank!
Im likely missing alot of things here so please chime in so I can compile my list together.
Thanks!
