My clam is climbing the wall!!

Check this out! I had this guy up on the rock ledge...

...but yesterday morning before the lights came on he dropped to the base of the rockwork and attached himself to the base of the rock at the very bottom (underneath the sand). This morning when I checked on the tank before going to work, I saw he has climbed up the side of the rock...straight vertical climbing like a boss!!

Yup! I had no clue they could walk either! I discovered that the other day when I found the trail he'd left in the sand! Today I found out not only can they walk...they can CLIMB! Now...if tomorrow I find him swimming around the tank, I'm going to have more questions...

Oh yeah, I've had a clam walk the sand bed and then make the jump up on to rock work! I still can't figure out how it made that jump.... Amazing animals

Just FYI...he's still in the same place...he seems to like it there (at least for now). I'm kinda hoping he stays on the side of the rock. It looks cool and he's not taking up usable real estate there. Ha!

Looks to be a fairly shaded area no? But I would leave the clam be (for now)it's obviously attached.

The guy I bought my fishtank from had the largest clam i've seen. He said he usually places it on the rocks and it always goes down to the sand bed.

When I bought my Maxima I was told to put in on flat rock on the bottom, so that's what I did. The next day it moved off the rock and sat on the SB, so I moved it back. This went on for the next couple of days until I gave up and just let it be. I guess it was happier on the SB because it hasn't moved from that spot and is doing great.
