My clarkiis are killing each other?!?!?!?

hey all, so it looks like my 2 clarkiis are beating each other up. both of their fins are torn and one of their tail fins has a huge chunk missing. I'm assuming this isn't normal behavior? they are twitching and spazzing after each blow to each other. please help! what should I do?

did you purchase them as a pair? if you bought two separate adults theyre probably fighting for dominance.

If they are fighting to the point where there is damage, I would separate them. They can and will fight to the death. How long have you had them?

I bought them separately, and we got them about a week ago

Thats the problem. One needs to he smaller than the other for it to have a chance of working. If theyre around the same size you may want to look into exchanging one of them.

Try to restructure some of your rock and corals. That could help let both fishes think they are "New" and will both be in a New shelter.
