My clown fish has been in the sand for about 14 hours. He stays in the same spot like he is sick. My PH and Cal is good. All my other fish seem to be fine.

How long have you had him, and does he participate in feeding time or does he stay in place?

Ive had him for about 3 weeks he has been eating fine. But when I fed today he just stayed in one spot. He didn't really eat much.

Did you QT it?

How long has your tank been set up? From other posts, I know it is pretty new.

What are your current parameters, with numbers please.

What other tank mates does he have?

Its been setup for about 5 weeks. I did a water change 9 days ago. I have a small yellow tang, yellow clown golby, 2 peperment shrimp, 3 turbo snails, and a lawnmower blemmy.

I'm not sure of my numbers. I had someone test the water. He said PH is right on, and cal is good. He said salinity was a little high but not enough to worry. I trust him wirhnthis info because he owns a LFS and Ive know him for about 10 years. How should ibQT him and for how long. I only have 1 tank.

A quarantine requires you putting water and an air stone and the fish. If you think your parameters are in check, there are only a few more things. One is the oxygen is low in your tank. To increase that you need surface breaking on top of the water. If it is not that then the fish has some sort of a disease.

I will look into that. I also think I may be feeding too Much. I feed twice a day. Frozen shrimp cubes. I also just started feeding my tang dried seaweed every 3 days.

Does he test for ammonia? That is a large bio-load for a 29 that is only 5 weeks old. If I am not mistaken, there is an anemone in there too.

If he is the one that suggested the livestock and the pace of stocking, I would question his info.

If you are going to feed that much just make sure to do it in small amounts. Your nitrates may be high and you may have ammonia and nitrites. Do a water change.

Test ammonia..guarantee it's too high! Happened to me, if you have another tank available get that fish in there stat!!

I don't have another tank to out him in. I can do a water change tomorrow night. What about the other fish. They seem to be fine. Do you think they will be fine for now.
